DOUKUTSU means “CAVE”

“DOUKUTSU PENGUIN CLUB” is a three-person development team based in Japan.
We create imaginative worlds that feel both harsh and warm—places that could exist somewhere in the world.

MEMBER

Nonohara

He is continuously venting his desire to create a world through illustrations and games discreetly. His family worried about losing weight due to too concentrated game development.

She’s mainly in charge of character art. She’s also kind of a pillow snob and can’t sleep well unless it’s her own.

I started as an ag major, but a sudden shift in my life path led me to become a musician.
Since then, I’ve been living life with a luck-all build, navigating by chance.

WE ARE

DOUKUTSU PENGUIN CLUB began in 2021 as a small personal project by Nonohara.
In the early days, there was a lot of trial and error, including work on unreleased titles such as Svinor of the Canyon. Over time, new members joined, and the team gradually took shape as we continued development on Calm of the Cliffs. The project was later selected for the iGi Indie Game Incubator, which gave us valuable opportunities to learn from people outside the team.

In 2024, we began full development on A Tiny Wander. Since then, we’ve been slowly participating in various events in Japan and abroad. To our surprise, the game has been featured at places like BitSummit and Wholesome Direct, and even received the ID@Xbox Award—something we’re truly grateful for.

Today, we continue to work steadily on creating atmospheric, exploration-focused indie games, while sharing daily development logs with our growing community.
